Mary Hoy
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lynn Hoy on July 31st, 2025. Cherished wife and “best buddy” of David Hoy for 62 years.
She was surrounded by her loving family.
Loving mother of Michael (Cynthia), John (Jhoane) and grandchildren Shaine, Tyson, Evan, Luc, Sabrina, and Jazmine.
She was predeceased by her parents Wallace (1985) and Mary Allen (2000). She is survived by her sister Jo-Anne (Wayne) Powers, sisters-in-law Carol (Bob) Fleming, Nancy Butler and Mary (Fred) Schmidt.
Lynn was a peaceful and loving person. She first honed her people skills from an early age, endearing her Talbot Street neighbors, easily winning their respect and admiration. At the STCI high school dance she met her future partner in love David, sharing 62 years of marriage together. “The girl in the green sweater” mesmerized him and from there, their life changed forever.
Lynn enjoyed camping adventures with her family. Her business acumen led to great success with The Good Time Music Hall where she and her music man Dave entertained thousands of fans, travelling all over Canada, the U.S., and Europe. In her retirement, she travelled and enjoyed the love of her family, especially her grandchildren.
Lynn loved reading and the arts and was a member of the St. Thomas Art Gallery, where she met so many beautiful friends. In the 57 years on Isabel Street and Benjamin Parkway, she endeared the hearts of her neighbors turned friends.
Thank you to the staff of St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital and London Health Sciences Centre who were so kind, caring and professional. A special thank you to Dr. Khan for her dedication and thoughtful care.
She will be forever missed and forever loved.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas, Ontario (519-631-0570). A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm in the chapel. Private interment of ashes. If desired, donations to the Salvation Army, or STEGH-Foundation would be appreciated.
