Mary Ann Begorre

Mary Ann (Vassar) Begorre, passed away on July 16, 2025, after a long illness. She was born on April 4, 1936, in Los Angeles, and she departed this life in San Mateo, leaving a legacy of warmth and dedication that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Mary Ann, a proud graduate of Lewiston Idaho High School and Mount St. Mary’s College with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, devoted her life to the nurturing and development of young minds. As a sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet, she served as a dedicated elementary school teacher, shaping the futures of countless students with her kindness and wisdom. Her commitment to care and compassion later led her to become a Certified Nurses Aide, a role through which she provided comfort and support to many until her retirement from Seton Medical Center. Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence. A devout Catholic, Mary Ann was a long-standing member of Our Lady of the Angels Parish, where she found strength and community.  

Mary Ann was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gabriel Begorre, whose memory she held close to her heart. She is survived by her brother, Clyde Vassar, her sister and brother-in-law, Mark and Irene Reich, and her sister, Sally Morrisroe, all of Boise, Idaho. Her legacy continues through her niece, Susan Langlands of Pacifica, California, her nephew, Andre Begorre, Vallejo, California. From Boise Anne Burkey, Julie Morrisroe Bú, Bridget Morrisroe Miller, Steve Barclay, James Barclay. 21 great nieces and nephews and the many grandnieces and nephews who will remember her generous and loving spirit.
