Marshall Matthew “Uncle Marty” Dillin
Age 59 • Etowah, North Carolina
Marshall Matthew Dillin, lovingly known as Uncle Marty, passed away on November 19, 2025, at his home in Etowah, NC. Born on an Army base in Georgia, Marshall spent his early years in Michigan before making his permanent home in Etowah as a teenager.
Marshall was an artisan and master craftsman, a man with unmatched skill and creativity. There was nothing he couldn’t build, fix, or bring to life with his hands. His work reflected his patience, dedication, and the deep pride he took in creating something meaningful.
He was an amazing father, always there with a helping hand or sound advice. Marshall was loved by so many; he thought of his friends as family, and his door was always open to anyone who needed him. He lifted people up quietly but powerfully, with steady guidance, kindness, and a generous heart.
Marshall is survived by his loving wife Frankie Marie, and by his sons: Eddie Rampey, John Rampey, and James Rampey. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Alisha, James Jr., Aaliyah, Collin, and Lilly Rampey, all of Greenville County, South Carolina, who brought tremendous joy to his life.
Marshall is further survived by his siblings Tom, Edward, Tina, and Michelle, and by his niece and nephew Thomas and Shannon Dillin.
A Celebration of Life was held on November 29th, where family and friends gathered in remembrance of such a wonderful man taken from us too soon.
Marshall will be remembered for his craftsmanship, his unwavering willingness to help others, and the love he gave so freely to everyone around him
