Mark Twain Garden Club celebrates 75 years of beautifying Carson City

By Liz Cain — The Mark Twain Garden Club marks its 75th anniversary this year, celebrating decades of dedication to gardening, education, and civic beautification in Carson City.

Founded in 1950, the club has planted trees in local parks, brightened downtown with seasonal flower baskets, supported the Children’s Secret Garden at the library, and donated a bench to the Carson Tahoe Cancer Center. Members continue to share their love of gardening through regular meetings, community projects, and a commitment to keeping Carson City blooming — one flower at a time.
