Mark Hughes, 81, passed away October 1, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Place in Jonesboro. Mark was born to Earl and Pearline Pillow Hughes in Walcott, AR. He was formerly of Monette, AR, and of the Baptist belief. He retired from E.C. Barton and Company. He also was an ASA Umpire in Chief for District 1 and an Umpire in Chief for the Jonesboro Softball Association. He was a retired volunteer fireman for the Monette Fire Department and 32nd Degree Mason and attended the Monette Masonic Lodge #558.

He is survived by two daughters, Amy (Willis) Lambert of Leachville, AR, and Marka Steflik of Jonesboro, AR; two grandchildren, Rebecka (Cord) Hatcher and Scott Brown; and one great-granddaughter, Finley Hatcher.

Mark is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Hughes, and son-in-law, Joe Steflik.

Pallbearers are Billy Bowen, Scott Bowen, Willis Lambert, Brandon McKuin, Aaron Uthoff, and Richie Pace. The Monette Volunteer Fire Department will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 5, 2024, at the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home at 10 A.M. The funeral service will follow at 11 A.M. in the Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Eddie Hawkins and Bro. Harold McMicle officiating.

Burial will be at Greene Co. Memorial Gardens in Paragould, AR.
