Mark J. Collins of Blackstone, MA passed away of natural causes at home Monday, May 12, 2025. He is the loving father of Holly Schott and father-in-law of Quincy Schott of Tipton, IA. He leaves 4 grandchildren Cody Lick, Austin Lick, Kelsey Schott, and Delanie Coleman. Mark was born in Lowell, MA on March 4, 1960, the son of the late Walter Collins and the late Patricia Dean, and the beloved Suzanne (Nelson) Collins of Blackstone, MA.
Mark leaves behind his brothers and sisters, Raylene A. George and her partner Robert Malenfant of Blackstone, MA; Susan M. Stocks of Foxboro, MA; Michael D. Collins and his wife Maria of Franklin, MA; Joseph W. Collins and his wife Jennifer of Blackstone, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews. We would be remiss in not noting he also leaves behind his loving and trusting dear feline friend Charlie – his larger-than-life companion of many years.
He was preceded in death by his son Mark A. Collins and daughter Kayla M Collins as well as his sister Stephanie A Hogge.
Mark grew up in Franklin and upon graduating from Franklin High joined the Army where he was stationed at Ft Lewis, Washington. After his 3-year enlistment Mark moved to Iowa and raised his family before returning back to Massachusetts.
Mark loved times singing, dancing, laughing with friends and family… and anyone else that saw his great smile drawing them into conversation. Mark enjoyed watching NASCAR, Bruins hockey, and Patriots football and Judge Judy – always with Charlie at his side. He loved sharing stories of fun times, so much that he might reshare those stories multiple times – always with great enthusiasm. He never knew a stranger… his ability to connect with others allowed him to meet many amazing people throughout his life and work driving truck or at the lumber yard.
Forever and foremost Mark loved everyone and will forever be cherished by the ones who were blessed to know him.
Funeral arrangements are private and being handled by Gilman & Valade Funeral Homes and Crematory. For memorial guestbook, please visit www.GilmanAndValade.com.
