Marion Vivian

Marion Kelly Vivian, née Morton, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, at the age of 96.

She was born in 1929, to Robert E. and Jesse (Hocking) Morton, in Wilkes-Barre, PA. She went on to graduate from Elmer L. Meyers High School in Wilkes-Barre, then continued her education at Delaware County Community College, where she studied accounting.

Marion met her husband, Carleton Kelly, through his first cousin Sandra Edwards Hunt – who was also the Maid of Honor at their wedding. Together they lived in Springfield, PA, for 20 years.

While in Springfield, she was a member of the Covenant United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher and visited the homebound members. Marion was also a Girl Scout leader and a board member of the Springfield Band and Orchestra Association.

After Carleton passed, she moved to Temple Terrace, FL, to be with her son, who was a surviving U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Veteran of the Vietnam War. While in Florida, Marion reconnected with classmate Jack Vivian at their 55th high school reunion – they married and lived in Florida for 14 years. During that time, she joined the Temple Terrace United Methodist Church and the Stephen Ministry.

Marion enjoyed skiing, traveling, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. She could still recite the names of every state capital and the Presidents of the United States.

She is survived by her daughters: Pamela Kelly Alvich (Michael) of New York, NY and Barbara Kelly Humphrey (David) of Yorktown Heights, NY; grandchildren: Benjamin Kelly, Kelly Humphrey Weinmeister (Jeffrey), Carter Humphrey (Josie); and great-grandchildren: Sierra, Cody, Lilia and Keira Kelly and Adelaide and Lucy Weinmeister.

Marion was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Jesse, husband Carleton Kelly, husband Jack Vivian, son James Kelly and sister Marjorie Stives.

During her life, Marion was always available to volunteer and help people in need. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
