Margaret Tito

Margaret M. (Hill) Tito, 69 of Beverly, passed on Monday, September 1, 2025. Born and raised in Roxbury, she was the daughter to the late Albert and Catherine (Flahvie) Hill.

Her career as a nurse brought her great pride, especially her time working at Valley Street Jail in Manchester NH. Known by many as a “battle ax,” she lived life with a fire that could never be dimmed, and built a reputation as someone unafraid to speak her mind. She later moved her family to Lancaster, NH, and created a home where she welcomed everyone and no one ever left without feeling cared for- or with an empty stomach.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Gomzlo Tito; two sons, Albert Tito of MA, Joseph Tito and his partner, Patrick Cannava of Winthrop; two brothers, Joseph Hill and his wife, Alison Chase of Boxford, Albert Hill and his wife Wendy of Swampscott; and one brother in-law, Clifford Woodfin. Among her beloved family, she shared a unique closeness with her nieces Jennifer Phillips and Catherine Woodfin, and her nephews James and David Woodfin. She also cherished her honorary grandchildren Lily, Liam and Jaxson.

She was predeceased by her twin sister Catherine Woodfin, whom she dearly missed; her sister Francis Hill; and her brothers William, Jake, and James Hill. She will be welcomed in Heaven by them and many dear friends and family who made the journey before her.

Her funeral service will be held at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly on Tuesday, September 9, at 2pm, followed by a reception at the American Legion 3 Judson Street, Beverly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, September 8, from 4 to 7pm. Burial will be private. Contributions may be made in Margaret’s memory to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970. Information, directions, condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com .
