Margaret Imelda Nolan (nee Gow) lovingly known as Mom, Grammy, Aunt Marge, sister, Godmother, and friend returned to her Heavenly home to be reunited with her husband Frank, son Michael, daughter Joan, grandson James, granddaughter Terese, great-granddaughter Rory, parents, siblings, and many more who loved her.
She passed peacefully at home, surrounded by the unending love of her family.
Marge lived a life full of love, happiness, talent, devotion, and servitude. Growing up in Chicago’s Bridgeport neighborhood, she often shared memories of times with grandparents, parents, and siblings. Later, she and Frank packed up their family of 5 and headed for the rural life of Muscatine, IA where she learned to square dance and garden. They than settled in Chicago Ridge, where they completed their family, hosted many holiday dinners, pool parties, and chats around the kitchen table with a coffee cake and a cup of tea or coffee.
She will be remembered for her love of family, her ability to always have her kids’ backs, her talent for sewing, her pride in her grandchildren, love of crossword puzzles, and her TV shows: Matlock, Murder She Wrote, and The Virginian could be heard on repeat.
She is survived by children Joseph (Karen) Nolan, Kevin (Mary) Nolan, Kathy (Jeff) Wilk, Margie (John) Nolan-McNulty, 11 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Her legacy will continue on with those left behind to carry on her traditions of love, giving, and devotion.
