Marc Szczur Sr.
Marc C. Szczur, Sr. – 67, of Cape May, passed away peacefully at home on April 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

A lifelong resident of the Cape May area, Marc graduated from Margaret Mace Elementary and Wildwood High School, where he stood out as a track and field athlete. Early in life, Marc ran the go-kart track at his parents’ restaurant, Seafarers, before pursuing a career in construction. He went on to establish his own construction company and later served as the Master Carpenter of Facilities at Morey’s Piers.

Marc was known for his big personality and even bigger heart. A true gentle giant, he was the kind of man who would do anything for his family and friends. He loved fishing, exploring new restaurants, traveling, and watching his children and grandchildren compete in sports. But more than anything, Marc cherished time spent with his beloved wife, children, and grandkids – a true reflection of the deep love and loyalty he had for his family.

He was married to his wife Kathleen for 44 years, until her passing in 2023. He is also predeceased by his parents, Casimer and Stella Szczur.

Marc is survived by his two sons, Marc (Kaitlyn) Szczur and Matt (Natalie) Szczur; his six grandchildren, Gavin, Kenadie, Matthew, Kobie, Macklin, and Sophia; his siblings, Dolores (Tom) McCormick, Randall Szczur, and Steven Szczur; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Marc’s life was a testament to hard work, devotion, and the joy of family. His impact will be felt for generations. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, May 7th, from 10:00 – 11:10 a.m. at St. John of God Church, 680 Town Bank Rd., North Cape May. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be private at a later date.
