Maggie  Valentine

Maggie was born on October 26, 1936, in Saluda, South Carolina of the late Andrew and Daisy Rauch. She transitioned to be with her Heavenly Father, at home with her loving son and daughter-in-law, Crystal late Tuesday evening on June 10, 2025.

Maggie began her early education in Saluda County, South Carolina and graduated from Saluda Rosenwald High School. After graduating in 1954, she then moved to New York to stay with her aunt to work in a hospital. Maggie met the Love of her life, “Curtis”, while attending high school together and later married Curtis Malvin Valentine, on August 27, 1961, and moved to Washington, D.C.

Into her blessed union of 52 years, three children were born. They both shared a Christian life together at New Mount Caramel Baptist Church. They both later joined Deliverance Miracle Temple and then Fort Foote Baptist Church in Fort Washington, MD., where she remained.

Maggie was employed by Prince George’s County School System as a Special Education/ Substitute Teacher, where she worked at various elementary schools for over ten years. Maggie had numerous friends and thoroughly enjoyed gardening her beautiful flowers, playing the piano and traveling. They both traveled throughout the United States and Spain. She was part of the National Washington Sanctuary Choirs for ten years. She also Loved singing with her Church Choir.

Maggie was preceded in death by her siblings Virginia Daniels and Ann Suber. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Cheryl Valentine and Deborah Roane: one son Christopher (Crystal) From the three children, she was truly blessed with eight grandchildren: Raphael, DeLeon, Christopher II, DiJon, Evian, Amber, Jazmine and Trinity. Eleven great grandchildren: Khamaree, (twins) Jarrod, Ja’Ray, JaNavia, Cassidy, Carter, Kassidi, Aubrie, Sanaii, Avianna, and Nala Rose and a host of nieces, nephews.
