Maggie Johnson

Our hearts are so broken as we write this obituary of our dear mother, Maggie Collins Johnson. Our mother was born on August 13, 1933, to the late Roxie Collins Akers and the late Spencer Isaac. She passed away on September 5, 2025, making her stay on God’s green Earth, 92 years & 23 days. Our Mom was 15 years old when she married our dad, the late Hiram Johnson. Being so young and sheltered, they decided to end their marriage. Then at the age of 18, our mom decided to remarry our father again and on April 19, 1952, she became his wife once more. Our father was called to join the Army after a few months of married life. He was only in for a brief time after having some medical problems. Then they decided to start a family, so they had 5 daughters, and they are: Daughters: Darlene Mullins of Hi Hat, Kentucky, Clina Jane Miller of Hi Hat, Kentucky, Piney Mae (the late Ray) Johnson of Kite, Kentucky, Bunny Lou Moore of Hi Hat, Kentucky & Virgina Sue (Tom) Stewart of Bevinsville, Kentucky. Our parents also raised a very special granddaughter Kristy Jane (Donnie) Keens as their own daughter. The four sons are: Amos Ray Johnson of Bevinsville, Kentucky, Rex (Donna) Johnson of Prestonsburg, Kentucky, Sherman Johnson of Hager Hill, Kentucky & Hiram Johnson Jr. of Bevinsville, Kentucky. Our mother joined The Zion Deliverance Church of Wayland, Kentucky in August of 1993 along with her our father. She was a firm believer of making her children do the right thing growing up. She taught us all what was the right way and what was the wrong way. Our mother was preceded in death by our father: Hiram Johnson, parents: Roxie Collins Akers and Spencer Isaac, 2 brothers: Hatler Collins & Hazard Collins. 4 half-brothers: Perry Isaac, Luster Isaac, William Lee Isaac & Mitchell Isaac; 6 sisters: Ida Johnson, Melvina Johnson Bartley, Sally Adams, Hulda Johnson, Linda Caudill & Dina Mullins; Grandson: John Chris Jenkins & granddaughter: Keisha Moore. Our mother leaves behind 9 children, 17 grandchildren, a host of grandchildren & a host of great great grandchildren; She also leaves behind a host of nieces & nephews. We miss you so much Mommy. We hope you are resting in the arms of Jesus.
