Lynn Barnett

Lynn Barnett, 82, of West Frankfort, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at 12:00 Noon at his residence.

He was born on March 3, 1943 in Equality, Illinois to Ralph Barnett and Carrie Roberta ( Colbert ) Barnett.

He was married to Geri ( Mitchell ) Barnett and she survives.

Lynn was a retired coal miner having worked at various coal mines during his career. He was a longtime member of the Shiners and spent many years as a Shiners Clown. He was President of the Great Lakes Shrine Association.

He is survived by his wife Geri, two daughters, Sheri Holman and companion Billy Gregory of West Frankfort and Teri Watson and husband Duke of West Frankfort and a son, Chad Barnett of West Frankfort

Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Cady Holman, Cara Holman, Shelbi Russell and husband Ronnie, Taylar Barnett, Gavin Barnett and Mitchell Bencie and 7 great grandchildren and a brother, Larry Barnett and wife Jennie of Harrisburg.

It was Mr. Barnett’s wish’s to be cremated with no services.

Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort is in charge of arrangements.
