Luke Williams

Luke Thomas Williams, age 7, went to be with Jesus on Monday, October 20, 2025, while being cared for by the compassionate staff at Maynard Children’s Hospital at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville. Luke was born in Pitt County on August 30, 2018, to his loving parents, Kyle and Heather Williams.

From the moment he arrived, Luke filled his home with laughter, energy, and love. He never could be still—always jumping, climbing, and roughhousing with his daddy, the rougher the better. Being tickled brought out his sweetest giggles. He was homeschooled by his Aunt Rachel and in the first grade, a bright little boy who loved to read and was especially good at math.

Luke loved being at home with his mama and daddy and wanted to be wherever they were. Saturday mornings were his favorite—slow and quiet with Daddy while Mama rested, though it never took long before he wanted to be right beside her again. He especially enjoyed rides in Daddy’s truck and helping in the kitchen whenever Mama was baking. The sound of the mixer always brought him running. His favorite meal was French fries with sweet tea, and sunny days were made for being outdoors, especially near the water or at the beach.

He was devoted to caring for his chickens, keeping them tended and happy. Luke loved his routine but was always willing to go along with whatever plans his mama and daddy made. He loved going to church and talking about God, and he and his family were members of White Oak Presbyterian Church in Lucama.

Luke also enjoyed playing video games and taking tap classes at A Step of Class Studio in Goldsboro, where he proudly performed in three recitals. Time spent with his cousin, Emma Grace, was always the best—whatever she was doing, Luke wanted to do too.

In addition to his parents, Luke is survived by his paternal grandparents, Gerald and Tracy Williams; paternal great-grandmother, Hilda Royall; maternal grandparents, Rhonda and Billy Fields; aunts and uncles, Lyle and Tiffany Williams, Brittany Williams, Mandy and Marty Taylor, and Rachel and Justin Carroll; and his beloved cousins, Gabriel, Grayson, Jaxxon, Amber, Emily, Abby, and Emma Grace.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. A service celebrating Luke’s precious life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Thompson officiating. A private interment for the family will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Luke’s memory to Maynard Children’s Hospital at ECU Health, P.O. Box 8489, Greenville, NC 27835-8489.
