Lois E. (Wolfe) Rutter, 72 of Beverly, died unexpectedly on Monday, August 25th. She was the daughter to the late Robert and Louise (Rideout) Wolfe and beloved wife of 33 years to the late George H. Rutter Jr.
She was born in Gloucester on September 18th ,1952 and graduated from Gloucester High School with the Class of 1971. Lois had a deep love for her family, friends, and those that surrounded her. Despite having no children of her own, Lois adored her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to the children in her family, she brought smiles to the faces of countless children and their parents throughout the over 30 years that she worked for the much beloved Toys R Us company.
Along with Lois’s many hobbies, she had an amazing talent for making cakes and the most delicious desserts. She made many wedding cakes for family and friends with lots of love. Lois also had a love for all animals, especially her two dogs Maggie and Precious.
Lois is survived by her aunt, Carol Getty; five cousins, Craig Getty, Lois McKay, Catherine McKay, Aubrey McKay, and Jaxon Covey; her godson, James McKay; two nieces, Amy DeMello and her husband Rodrigo as well as their children Samuel and Liliana; and Amanda Beane and her husband Mark as well as their children Makenzie and Dominick; and many longtime friends.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is predeceased by her brother, Donald Wolfe and by her sister-in-law Bonnie Wolfe.
In accordance with Lois’ wishes, funeral services are private. A Celebration of Lois’ Life will be held Sunday September 9th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Centerville Woods 395 Essex St Beverly. Arrangements by Campbell Funeral Home, 6 High Street, Ipswich. Condolences at www.campbellfuneral.com
