Linda Jo Burnett Hutchcraft, born on March 1, 1945, passed away surrounded by love and family. Linda lived a life defined by kindness, creativity, hard work, and an open heart.
On April 12, 1963, she married the love of her life, Jim Hutchcraft. Together they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage, building a family and a home filled with love, laughter, and support. Linda was a devoted mother to her two sons, Ron and Robert, and quickly became a “second mom” to many of their friends. Her home was always a place of welcome and encouragement, where everyone felt like family.
Linda’s talents and work ethic shone throughout her life. She was a gifted artist, and her creativity led her into a 20–year career designing jewelry at Douglas Jewelers in Christopher. After that, she dedicated 15 years of service to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, where she worked as a Court Bailiff. No matter where she was—behind a jeweler’s bench or in the courthouse—Linda brought diligence, respect, and care to her work and to the people she served.
Outside of work, Linda filled her life with the things she loved most. She was an avid sports fan who never missed the chance to cheer on her sons’ and later her grandchildren’s teams, as well as the family’s favorite teams. She loved playing golf, fishing, and traveling, and she cherished every moment spent with her friends. Her energy, laughter, and adventurous spirit left lasting memories for all who knew her.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Mig Burnett, and her beloved husband of 61 years, Jim Hutchcraft. She is survived by her two children, Ron and Robert; her grandchildren, Michael and Nikki; her brother-in-law, Dennis; and her sisters Peggy, Nancy, and Mary Blye. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
Linda will be remembered for her kindness, her creativity, and her ability to see beauty in the world around her. She poured her heart into everything she did and everyone she met, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and joy.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Cash officiating. Visitation will be after 12:00 Noon on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort.
