Linda Gross

Linda Lee Gross, age 76, passed away on September 18, 2025, following her valiant battle with COPD and dementia. She was born on December 17, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Leroy and Frieda Smith. She attended and graduated from Central High School in Columbus. She was known to many over the years as Granny and Mrs. G. She retired as a store manager for CheckSmart, where she was known for her quick math skills and ability to spot a fake check.

Linda loved her Cleveland Browns and NASCAR, especially #3, and she always sported her Buckeye gear on GameDay. She enjoyed spoiling her terrier, Bandit, who ate better than most of us. Her greatest love of all was her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by her son, Stacey L. Null, and by her parents, Frieda and Leroy.

Linda is survived by her sons, Michael P. Gross and Jason M. Gross; her grandchildren, Ashleigh, Ryan (Samantha), Sarah, Rachel, James, Katherine, and Charles; her brother, Michael (Alice) Smith; her nieces, Patti (Robbie) Perdue, Connie (Adam) Jewell and a nephew, Michael (Amanda) Smith; and six great-grandchildren, Nanci, Robert, Addison, Ava, Everly and Eleanor.

She was a women’s auxiliary member of the local VFW, Reynoldsburg chapter, but became too sick to continue her service.

Calling hours and the Celebration of Life will be held at Pfeifer Woodyard Funeral Home, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

A very special thanks to her long time caregivers, who she loved like family, Vicki (the daughter she never had), and Jodie. She loved you both so much. Thank you to her family doctor, Dr. Q. (COPC), who always took our calls and made the time to talk with the family. Thank you all for taking exceptional care of Mom over the years.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Lupus Foundation, in memory of Linda.

Pfeifer Woodyard Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
