Les Schickling

Lester “Les” Gordon Schickling Jr., 67, of Sterling, Colorado, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 in Sterling . Les was born on August 4, 1957 in Edgerton, Wisconsin. He was adopted and raised by Lester (Whitey) Sr. and Shirley (Bloomstrand) Schickling. He attended schools in Prescott, Wisconsin. He worked as a diesel Mechanic on the family-owned Sioux Towboat, a Maintenance Mechanic, and a Propane Truck Driver.

Les married Kathleen M Lamatsch in 1987 in Taylor Falls, Minnesota. They were married for 38 years. Les enjoyed music, nature, kayaking, softball, and watching Ghost Hunters. He was also a radio DJ for KLZR in Westcliffe, Colorado.

Les is survived by his wife Kathleen Schickling; children Sheri (James) Kennedy, Bryan (Erica) Schickling, Alyson (Andrew) Tolbert; grandchildren Sonia, Jayden, JC, Jasper, Zane, and Jace; siblings John and Jaci.

He was preceded in death by his parents Shirley and Lester.

Les did not want formal services and cremation has taken place. Please donate to a charity of your choosing in his name if you wish.
