Leonard Brightnose

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Leonard (Lorne) Brightnose, aged 66, on October 3, 2025.

Lorne was born and raised in Pikwitonei, MB by his parents, Harry and Liz Brightnose.

Lorne loved being out at his camp where he hunted, fished, and trapped. He worked various jobs before settling on Diamond Drilling, where he was called McGyver for his ability to fix anything.

His greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren who each believed with all their hearts that they were Papa’s favourite. Papa always had the good candies.

Lorne leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Diane. Children: Mark (Shauni) Clemons, Rena Clemons, Jesse (Rena) Simard, Kristy Brightnose, Lauren Brightnose. His two bonus children (grandsons) Treyson and Eryk. Biological Father: Richard Chaboyer. Brothers: Ernest (Mary) Brightnose, Roger (Dorothy) Brightnose, Kerwin (Mandy) Chaboyer, Blaine (Dee) Chaboyer, Sisters: Gail Chaboyer, Christina Brightnose. Grandchildren: Charity, Miranda, Katelyn, Tandrei, Kiara, Marcus, Max, Helena, Julianna, Liliana, Raelyn, Peyton, Roman, Brycen, Landen, Ayden, Kali, Natalia, Carter, Gracelyn, Riley, Ava, Theo. Great grandchildren: Aries, Meadow, Elex, Micah, Emery, Evander, Elias, Ecadius, Ezryn, and his buddy- Grand-dog Koda. Numerous aunts’ uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

At his request there will be no service. Cremation will take place and his ashes taken to his camp by son Jesse, cousins Hilliard and Leonard Brightnose.

We would like to thank the Palliative Care Team Dr. Coleman, Dr. Eakin and Nurse Mino, along with all TGH emergency staff, TGH paramedics for the care and support.
