Lawanda Knighten

Lawanda Imalene Knighten, also known as Peewee, age 64, of Ashdown, AR, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at home with family, leaving behind a garden that will bloom a little less brightly without her.

Peewee was born September 27, 1960, to Leonard Davis and Linda Davis Schmidt. A daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Peewee poured her love into her family, her garden, and her pantry shelves lined with jars of perfectly canned goodness. She could often be found in her garden, in the mountains camping under the stars, or preparing for any “just in case” scenario with a prepper’s twinkle in her eye.

After more than 30 years at the Foreman Parts House Peewee retired. Her helpfulness and friendship will be missed by many of the patrons.

She leaves behind a family who will miss her fiercely but will carry her lessons – from how to fix just about anything to how to pickle just about everything – for the rest of their lives.

Peewee is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Davis, Linda Schmidt, and Marvin Schmidt; son, John Keith Jackson, and sister, Bonnell Davis.

Peewee is survived by her husband, Tom Knighten; seven sons, Jimmy Green, Nick Green and wife Julie, Dwight Green, Cory Green and wife Sarah, Thomas Ralph Knighten and wife Jerri, Jeremy Knighten, and Kerry Knighten; two daughters, Amy Knighten and Zoie Knighten; sister, Lynnell Cleghorn and husband Tommy; brothers Craig Schmidt and Brian Schmidt; 18 grandchildren, KJ Green, CJ Green, Chandler Green, Ty Knighten and wife Madison, Leha Green, Jimmie Green, Shelby Green, Abigayle Green, Spencer Green, Kylie Green, July Green, Nila Heard, Cameron Hartly, Sebastian Hartly, Oriana Knighten, Jeremy Knighten Jr, Hayden Knighten, and Kilynn Knighten; four great grandchildren, Elijah Knighten, Finley Knighten, Eden Knighten, and Aloysius Green; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service for Peewee will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Foreman with Trent Liggin and Tommy Cleghorn officiating.
