Larry Wayne Savage, born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on November 4, 1958, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, at the age of 66. While our hearts mourn, we take comfort in knowing he is now in eternal peace. He is proceeded in death by his parents Jack and Mildred Savage and sister, Janice Savage. He was surrounded by his loved ones, leaving a legacy of hard work, kindness, and an unwavering love for his family.
Above all, Larry cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Jean, of 33 years. He was a proud father and papa. Larry’s greatest joy was time spent with those he loved and his beloved dog Sophie. His warm heart, generosity, and unwavering support were felt by all who knew him. He was a rock for his family, always ready to lend a hand, offer a word of wisdom and had the best sense of humor.
Larry is survived by his wife Jean Savage; his children Matthew Savage, Stephanie Townsend (Michael), Jacqueline Smith (Emmett), Stacy Skinner (Christopher), Sarah Booth (Gregory), Lindsay Martinez (Shawn); his grandchildren Sommer, Paige, Aleksandra, Teagan, Emmalyn, Emmett, Lincoln, Penelope, Chelsea, Alexis, Hudson, Brynn, Palmer; his brothers Donald Savage and Michael Savage.
Larry was the proud owner of Advanced Roofing, Inc. in Yorkville, IL where his expertise and dedication to his craft made him a respected figure in the industry. His attention to detail and commitment to excellence earned him the trust and admiration of his clients. Throughout his career, Larry worked tirelessly to build a business founded on integrity, reliability, and a passion for the work he did.
Beyond his professional achievements, Larry had a deep love for life. He was an avid car enthusiast, knew the best restaurants, enjoyed woodworking, baking cookies, playing bass guitar, and hitting the links for relaxation.
Traveling was another of Larry’s great passions. He embraced every opportunity to explore new places, whether it was a quiet weekend getaway or an international adventure with family. His stories of far-off lands and unforgettable experiences were always a highlight of any family gathering, as he had a special way of making everyone feel the excitement of his travels.
Larry’s legacy lives on in the many lives he touched through his work, his travels, his passions, and the love he so freely gave to his family and friends. While he will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to inspire and bring comfort to those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation to honor Larry’s life will be held at Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street, Yorkville, IL on Thursday, May 29 from 4pm-7pm. Honorary service will be private. Donations can be made to the Amyloidosis Foundation at www.amyloidosis.org.
