Larry Dean Joseph, 85, of Hillsboro, WI died on June 11, 2025. He was born on November 1, 1939, to Norma Sandmire Joseph and Aaron (Casey) Dee Joseph on the Bear Creek family farm. Larry graduated from West Lima High School and attended teacher college in Viroqua where he met the love of his life Marcella Marie Benish of Hillsboro. They were married on July 8, 1958, at the Dilly Catholic Church. After farming with his in-laws for several years, he moved his family to the Madison, WI area and became a diesel mechanic. He attended extensive training and worked most of his career as a mechanic and a Vice-President of Polk Diesel. He finished his career with the Operating Engineers Local 139 and retired to Hillsboro, WI. Larry and Marcie raised 5 children in the Sun Prairie/Marshall, WI area. His family was his pride and joy, and he enjoyed attending events of his children/their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren over the years. He was an avid gardener, hunter, and enjoyed traveling to visit family. They moved to Hillsboro in 2006 and enjoyed the beautiful farmland. Marcie passed away in 2021. Larry is survived by his five children, Lisa Joseph (Stacy) of Taos, NM, Allen Joseph (Jane) of Tallahassee, FL, William Joseph (Sherry) of Troy, IL; Sherry Turner (Michael) of Temecula CA; Richard Joseph (Michele) of Belleville, WI. Grandchildren: Joe Lang (Cassie) of Belleville, W, Danielle Hillebrand (Justin) of Brookfield, WI; Sara Johnson (Logan) of Rogers, AR; Kelsey Vincent (Jake) of Eau Claire, WI, Forest Joseph, of Troy, IL, Elle Liegel (Eric) of Belleville, WI, Jacob Joseph (Emily) of Little Chute, WI, Bao and Jin Joseph of Tallahassee, FL. Great-Grandchildren Paisley, Diana, Theo, Axel, Alder, Wyatt and Bentley. Brother Aaron Joseph (Pam) of Stoughton, WI; Brother-in-law John Clark of Sun Prairie, WI, Brother and Sister-in law Butch and Eileen Nale of Hillsboro, WI. Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marcie; his parents, Norma and Aaron Joseph (Step-Mother Beatrice Weeden); his parent-in-laws, Emil and Elsie Benish; brother and sister-in-law, Darwin and Pat Joseph, sister, Mary Rowin, brother-in law Gary Paske, sister Francis Joseph, sister-in-law JoAnn Clark. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
