Larry Gwinn, Sr.
Larry McMillian ‘Mackie’ Gwinn Sr., 86, of Belle passed away July 11, 2025 at his home.
He was a retired yard master for Norfork Southern Railroad, a member of Diamond United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of Chelyan Lodge No. 158 AF&AM. Mackie was a lifelong resident of Diamond and Belle. Mackie loved golf and watching football and was known as the neighborhood fixer-upper. He was a youth baseball coach and former President of the Belle Bulldogs Little League Football.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Kenneth S. and Anna Vivian Lambert Gwinn; brother, Kenneth Gwinn and grandson-in-law, Paul Bedi.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Skaggs Gwinn; sons, Larry Gwinn Jr. (Ari) of Marietta, Ohio, Matthew Gwinn (Nancy Peters) of Westbury, New York, Todd Gwinn of Belle; brother, Ernest Dale Gwinn of Hendersonville, Tennessee; grandchildren; Jennifer Bedi, Andrew Gwinn, Ethan Gwinn, Charis Gwinn, Jack Peters, Roxana Resnick, Stephen Miller; great grandchildren; Lucas Resnick and caregiver, Keith Ballard; who kept Mackie smiling and laughing until the very end.
A celebration of Mackie’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on the 19th day, of July, 2025 at the Belle Town Hall. In keeping with Mackie’s requests his cremation wishes will be honored prior to his Celebration of Life. The Celebration of Life will be casual dress.
