Lane reductions Monday and Tuesday on US-395 at Carson River for routine bridge inspection

Traffic lanes will be reduced on U.S. 395 south of Carson City this Monday and Tuesday, July 28-29 as the Nevada Department of Transportation performs routine bridge inspections.

  • July 28 Single lane closures on both directions of U.S. 395 directly south of Old Clear Creek Road between 8am-4pm July 28 for routine inspection of highway bridges.
  • July 29 Single lane closures on both directions of U.S. 395 over the Carson River (north of Stephanie Way) between 8am-4pm July 29 for routine inspection of highway bridges.
  • One direction of highway will be reduced to one lane at a time.
  • Speed limits will be reduced in the work zone.
  • Drivers should expect moderate travel delays, and are advised to leave extra travel time.
  • The lane closure schedule is subject to change.

The lane reductions are for the bridges’ federally-mandated biennial inspections. NDOT inspects the majority of Nevada bridges, including city and county-maintained structures, every two years. Bridges with more extensive deterioration are inspected more often, while select newer bridges are inspected every four years. In fact, NDOT’s dedicated bridge inspection and rehabilitation program has helped Nevada bridges to be named the nation’s best for multiple recent years.
