Kathleen M. Garcia of Highland Falls, NY passed away at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall in Newburgh, NY on April 9, 2025, at the age of 69 years old. Daughter of the late Theodore and Eileen (O’Donnell) Hahnenfeld, she was born in New York, NY on November 30, 1955.
Kathleen was an Assistant Manager at the Merry-Go-Round at Bear Mountain State Park.
She was a parishioner of both Sacred Heart Church in Highland Falls and Blessed Sacrament Church in Fort Montgomery.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband Julio Garcia, at home in Highland Falls; sons Julio, Jr. of Ithaca, NY, and Raymond of Highland Falls, NY; daughters Jennifer Ortiz (and Chris) of Beacon, NY, and Semantha McDonald (and Matthew) of Newburgh, NY. Kathleen leaves behind 11 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren, as well as siblings: Joe Hahnenfeld (and Julie Redman) of Eugene, OR; Theodore Hahnenfeld, Jr. (and Arlene Zaima) of Amity, OR; John Hahnenfeld (and Susan) of Nanuet, NY; Christine Corti (and William) also of Nanuet; and Maureen Hahnenfeld McCue of Glens Falls, NY.
In addition to her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her son Pedro Garcia, and her sister Eileen Taylor.
Visitation will take place from 4:00-7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at William F. Hogan Funeral Home, 135 Main St., Highland Falls, NY. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church, 353 Main St., Highland Falls, NY. Interment to follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, 36 West Nyack Rd., Nanuet, NY.
