Justine Davis

Justine Faith Davis was born in 1964 to John Davis and Geraldine (Gerry) Hill Davis. She was born on the MacDill Airforce Base in Tampa Florida where her father John was stationed. The family later moved to Hollis, Queens, New York, where her brother Jason was born. She was preceded in death by her father and brother.

Justine was a beautiful, amazing child who was intellectually gifted and displayed many talents. She learned to read at a very young age. When being driven to elementary school by her mother, instead of reading children’s books, Justine would take a volume from her encyclopedia to read on the way to school. She loved music and learned to play the violin and the piano. Justine also liked to sing. While attending high school, she was selected to perform with the All City Chorus. She had a great love for all types of animals and enjoyed horseback riding. As a child, Justine attended horseback riding camp in the summertime.

After attending public elementary school, Justine was admitted to the prestigious Stuyvesant High School, one of the specialized high schools in New York City. She graduated at the young age of sixteen (16). After graduating, she attended Cornell University where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinarian Medicine. Justine was also a talented, creative writer and was falsely accused of plagiarism while at Cornell because her teacher could not believe that a student her age, could write so well.

After graduating from college, Justine worked as a Veterinarian Assistant for many years. However, she also modeled, sang and acted in plays with various companies, such as the Helen Hayes Theatre in Rockland County, New York.

Her love of music finally led her to develop entrepreneurial skills and she became a DJ along with her business partner and loyal friend of over 47 years, Bill Sullivan, professionally known as “Brooklyn Bill.” Together they have delighted patrons at clubs, restaurants, bars and at special occasions throughout New York State with their DJ skills.

Justine also sold pharmaceuticals for two years in Westchester and New Jersey for GlaxoSmithKline.

Her lasting name is NIGHTSTARDJ***

After various health challenges the Almighty Creator called her Home. Justine’s parting words were that her mother Gerry be “taken care of and comforted.”

Justine Davis leaves to mourn: her mother Geraldine (Gerry) Davis, Nephew Nicholas Davis, Aunt and Uncle Anna and Booker T. Washington, Aunt Phyllis Cardwell; Cousins Michael and Gary Washington, Dawn, Denise, David, and Desiree Cardwell; Special Friend, Bill Sullivan and Family Friends Leora Neal and Rochelle Evans, Tammy Guy. Janet Masiku and a host of relatives, and friends.
