Jurlee Bell Bryant, better known as “Tutt” or “Aunt Tutt” to her family and friends, was born on August 11, 1938 to the late Whittie, Sr. and Gertie Bell. At an early age, Jurlee joined Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church. She received her education in the Bertie County school system. After graduation, Jurlee relocated to Brooklyn, NY, to evade working on the farm and to make a better life for herself.

Jurlee married the late Freddie Bryant and to this union, two daughters were born. Later she met Herbert Kinard and a loving son, Julius, joined the family.
Jurlee was a dedicated and loving mother, auntie, grandmother and friends. She loved doing crossword puzzles and spending time with family. She was always concerned about the well-being of her family. She would call often to check in with them and tell them that she loved them. Her last words before ending a call always were, “I love you”. We will miss you, Jurlee. YOU will always be SPECIAL.
She worked in the clothing industry and had a passion for caring for children in her senior years. After retirement, she enjoyed attending the Senior Adult Daycare in her Brooklyn community. Jurlee was well known in her community as a giver, sharing her love, time, and food with many in the community
