June Reh

June Gierke Reh, 100, died December 17, 2022, the last of the great Gierke girls. She was born in Chicago July 3, 1922 to Fred J Gierke and Minnie Priebs Gierke. She was the youngest of 6 girls with a younger brother. When she finished 6th grade her father told her she had more education than he did and it was time to learn to keep the books for his businesses. After graduating Lake View HS she worked. She married John Reh in 1943 and continued to work most of her adult life while raising 4 children. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments. As her health started to decline she set a goal to reach 100 years of age. This past July she celebrated her life and accomplishments with her family. June was definitely the matriarch of her family, strong but lovable, she kept things together when times were difficult.

Preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, her parents, all of her sisters and brother and their spouses. Survived by two sons; John (Barb) Reh of Aurora IL, Jim (Carol) Reh of Sapulpa OK, and two daughters; Pam Kochman of San Diego, CA and Jill (Bud) Beechler of Lockport, IL. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, 30 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Anderson Morgan Funeral Home, 10300 W. Grand Ave., Franklin Park, IL 60131 on January 5, 2023 at 10am with service following at 11am. Interment will be at Elmwood Park Cemetery with her husband, parents and most of her siblings.
