GOUVERNEUR-Funeral services for June C. Lashbrooks, of Gouverneur, NY, will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Frary Funeral Home (formally Green Funeral Home), Gouverneur, at 12:00 PM with Pastor Ben Lalka officiating. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral. Burial will be held at Gouverneur Riverside Cemetery at the convenience of the family. June passed away on August 12, 2025 at Canton Potsdam Hospital.
June was born on June 3, 1941, to the late Raymond and Gladys (Taylor) Lashbrooks in
Gouverneur, NY. She attended Gouverneur area schools. Aside from being a full-time mother,
June worked as a housekeeper for several Thousand Islands area hotels, most notably Bonnie
Castle in Alexandria Bay, NY, where she worked for more than 30 years before her retirement in
2005.
June is survived by her son, Mark (Tammy) Lashbrooks, of Gouverneur; her brothers Allen
Lashbrooks of NC, and Earl (Marie) Lashbrooks of Croghan; her grandchildren Ashley Neuroth,
Justice, Isaiah, Zeke, and Jeremaiah Derr, Jessica Lashbrooks, and Christina Fifield; her great-
grandchildren Trevor Larson, Savannah George, and Camden and Aleah Fifield, Miley Way as well as many nieces and
nephews.
June is predeceased by her parents; her son Stanley Holiday; her brothers Walt and Weldon
Lashbrooks, and her sisters Beatrice Nichols, Reatha Newcomb, and Linda Hurd.
June greatly enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee, watching her favorite shows on T.V., and spending
hours on the phone with her friends and family.
