Judith Gamache

Judith Ann “Judy” Gamache, age 82, of Altoona, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025.
Born on September 28, 1942, in Eau Claire, Judy was a lifelong resident of the area. She graduated from Regis High School and then earned a degree in education from the UWEC. Judy taught at Immaculate Conception School.
On December 30, 1965, Judy married Robert John Gamache. They raised 4 wonderful supportive children.
Judy will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love of family and friends, and her profound dedication to her faith and community. An avid quilter and gardener, Judy’s beautiful creations grace the homes of many, a testament to her talent and generosity.
Judy is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Robert; her children: Jennifer (Bruce) Linn, Paul (Janice) Gamache, Susan (Terry) Cornish, and David (Kristen) Gamache; and her 11 grandchildren: Maria (Isaac) Linn-Evans, Alex Cornish, Christopher (Chelsea) Cornish, Jillian (Zack) Katsel, Jason Linn, Timothy (Allison) Cornish, Molly Gamache, Daniel (Erin) Cornish, Xavier Gamache, Amelia Gamache, and Phoebe Gamache. She is also survived by her siblings: Larry (Faith) McCaghy, Rick (Betty) McCaghy, and Jeannie McCaghy.
A Visitation to honor Judy’s life will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Raymond of Peñafort Catholic Church in Fall Creek, Wisconsin, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. A lunch reception will follow the service. Judy will be laid to rest at Holcombe Cemetery.
