Joyce Waibel

Joyce Ann Waibel, 94, of Jacksonville, IL, formerly of Sherman, IL, died at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Cedarhurst Senior Living of Jacksonville. She was born on July 6, 1931, in Bonner Springs, KS, the daughter of Carl and Beatrice (Lynch) Schwarzweller. She married Donnie Ray Waibel on November 22, 1951, and he preceded her in death on September 27, 2022.

Surviving are two daughters, Denise A. (Dr. Robert) Rycek of Kearney, NE, and Melinda “Mindy” K. (Chris) Miller of Crete; Two sons, Bertin C. (Cindy) Waibel of Greenview and Brian K. (Banjo) Waibel of Camden; daughter-in-law, Monica Waibel of Montana; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Donnie, Joyce was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis Ray Waibel; and one grandson, Cody Waibel.

Joyce was a loving mother and a devoted homemaker to her family. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

Private graveside services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
