Joyce Tooke

Joyce Neely Tooke, 92, of Star City passed away Sunday, September 14, 2025. She was born May 19, 1933, in Lincoln County to the late Carl and Ethel Doss Neely. Mrs. Tooke was a homemaker and was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She loved arts and crafts and enjoyed entering her items in the fair.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Clyde Tooke, her son, James Douglas Tooke, a sister, Montine Sipes, and two brothers, Plummer Neely and Bud Neely.

Survivors include a son, David Tooke (Vicki) of Sheridan, a daughter Nina Tooke of Sheridan, a sister, Betty Swinney of Houston, TX, 5 grandchildren, Brandy Haley (Greg), Denise Roberts (Chris), Chris Jordan (Shawan), Nicole Berry (Gary), Clayton Alkire (Danielle), 17 great-grandchildren, and 4 great great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 1:00-2:00pm at Griffin Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow beginning at 2:00pm at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jarrod Pettit and Bro. Bruce Huddleston officiating. Burial at Prosperity Cemetery in Cleveland County. Pallbearers are Brody Tubbs, Hunter Haley, Nicolas Haley, Lukas Jordan, Frank Long, and Ron Morgan.
