Joyce Pritchett

Joyce Elaine Amos Pritchett, formerly of North Haven, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2025 at the age of 90. Born in Bridgeport, CT, she was the only child of Dewey Lee and Edna Mae Amos. A graduate of Central High School and the University of Connecticut, Joyce pursued a career in pharmacy and later became a Registered Records Administrator. She worked at the West Haven VA Medical Center, retiring after 34 years of service.

Joyce was an active member of Dixwell Avenue Congregational United Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir. Known for her beautiful soprano voice and love of travel, she also belonged to the Heritage Chorale, the Amistad Committee, the National Council of Negro Women, and a host of other civic organizations.

She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Pritchett, and was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Willis Pritchett. No services will be held.  Joyce’s ashes will be interred with her husband at Beaverdale Memorial Park in New Haven, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
