Josephine ‘Jo” Theisen

(nee Capizzi)

Age 100 passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025.  She was born February 10, 1925, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Vita (nee Leone) Capizzi.  In addition to her parents Jo was preceded in death by her husband Merlin “Mert” Theisen, brothers and sisters-in-law.  Beloved mother of Tom (Kathy) Theisen and Kathie Jo Theisen. Loving grandmother of Danielle (Zach) Backus and Matthew Theisen.  She is further survived by nieces and nephews.

Jo and Mert enjoyed spending their summers in Lakewood, Wisconsin and winters in Tucson, Arizona.

She enjoyed her 12 years living at Kirkland Crossings in Pewaukee making new friends, sharing card games, participating in outings and activities and rooting for the Packers.

Jo’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Kirkland Crossings for the care and support over the years.

Private family services will be held.  Jo will be laid to rest next to her husband Mert at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, Wisconsin.
