Joseph “Joe” Boffoli Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Port Saint Lucie, Florida, on June 17, 2025. He was 79 years old.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, Joe proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1974, including a tour of duty in Vietnam. It was during his time stationed in Okinawa, Japan, that he met the love of his life, Eiko Kawamitsu. They were married in 1969 and spent over five decades side by side, raising a family and building a life filled with love and laughter.
Joe’s career took the family across the United States, with stops in Illinois, Iowa, and Massachusetts, before they settled in Port Saint Lucie in 1983. There, Joe and Eiko became deeply involved in their local Catholic church, where their faith remained a cornerstone of their lives.
A devout Catholic and a proud family man, Joe found his greatest joy in his role as a provider and protector. He is survived by his three children—William, Maria, and Joseph III—seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Eiko in 2023.
Joe was known for his quick wit and playful sense of humor. He enjoyed making people laugh. A true New Englander at heart, he enjoyed following his beloved Boston sports teams and keeping up with his favorite (and often opinionated) news programs, Joe approached life with passion and spirit.
He will be deeply missed by his children, his brothers and sisters, extended family, and the many friends whose lives he touched with kindness, humor, and unwavering love.
A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie on July 29, 2025 at 11AM to celebrate Joe’s life and legacy.
