Johnny Trivett

Johnny Trivett, 81, of Whitetop, VA passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Konnarock, VA on January 27, 1944, a son of the late Lillard and Clyde Trivett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Barbara, Bill, Darrel, Gerald, and Gene. He had traveled and worked for many years in Michigan but made his home in Whitetop, VA. He was a retired truck driver. He loved fishing and watching Nascar which Richard Petty was his favorite driver. He was a member of Whitetop Baptist Church. Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 55 years. Diane Blevins Trivett; one son, Shawn Trivett and his wife Ann; one daughter, Stephanie Roop and her husbnad, Joey; one brother, Ted Trivett; one sister, Lucille Farmer; his brother-in-law, Bruce Blevins; his grandkids, Brook and Trevan Rhymer, Cody and Brandy Trivett, and Alex Osborne; his great grandkids, Lane and Layla Trivett, Leighton and Wyleigh Rhymer, and Kypton Osborne; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Whitetop Baptist Church, Whitetop, VA. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm Wednesday at the church with Pastor Brian Walls officiating. The committal service and interment will be private in the Blevins Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Barr, Scott Barr, Joey Roop, Alex Osborne, Joey Sells, Trevan Rhymer, and Mark Shepherd. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tracy Proffitt and Larry “Boot” Pennington. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Whitetop Baptist Church, 16510 Highlands Parkway, Whitetop, VA 24292.
