Life’s voyage came to an end for Mr. Johnnie Lee Montgomery, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in Columbia, Maryland.
Born in Clarendon County of South Carolina, on November 15, 1966, he was a son of Isaac Jr. and Maggie Mellerson Montgomery. Johnnie was affectionately known as, “Zeak” and “Black”.
Having being reared in a Christian home, “Zeak” received a foundation of faith at a very early age and united and maintained a lifelong membership with Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church in Summerton. Later on, he attended Fort Foote Baptist Church in Fort Washington, Maryland.
During his formative years, Johnnie received his education in the public schools of Clarendon County and was a graduate of Scott’s Branch High School, “Class of 1986”. After graduation, he moved to Miami, Florida. Later on, relocated to Fort Washington.
“Zeak”, worked as a chef at Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC. He was also a landscaper and painter. Johnnie was a very prideful, hardworking man who passionately played pool and competing in competitions. He enjoyed riding bike and loved to cook as well as teaching others. “Black” expressed “One Love” on a daily! He was sweet as sugar, easy going and smooth. “Zeak” gave the best advice and a great listening ear.
