John Lowther

Lowther, John Anthony – Passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Kingston Health Sciences Centre on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Jennifer Lowther and his son Matt (Raquel). John was predeceased by his granddaughters Kaitlyn and Amy Sue in 2010. He will be missed by his niece and nephew; Kath and Jim Davidson and their extended families.

John was a lifetime member of Kingston Yacht Club. He loved sailing and spent many days on Lake Ontario with Jennie and his family and friends. He was a 55-year member of Local 249 Carpenters. John was a dedicated father to Matt and a wonderful friend to many.

The family will receive guests at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 1:00 – 1:50 pm followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 pm and an inurnment at Cataraqui Cemetery. There will be Celebration of John’s life at the Kingston Yacht Club, 1 Maitland Street beginning at 4:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to UHKF – Neonatal, in John’s honour.
