John Hurley
John G. Hurley, Sr., 85, of Abingdon, VA passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Abingdon Health and Rehab Center, Abingdon, VA. He was born in Damascus, VA on April 10, 1939, a son of the late Paul Wilson Hurley and Lavona Rachel Rowland Hurley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Corrine Hurley.
He had lived in Manassas, VA for twenty-five years before moving back to Damascus, VA in 2002. He was a supervisor for MidAtlantic Regional Council of Carpenters. He enjoyed watching Nascar, baseball, and football.
John is survived by his wife, Rita Ann Blythe Hurley; one son, Johnny G. Hurley, Jr.; one grandson, Wyatt Hurley; one great granddaughter, Emma Hurley; two step-sons, Daniel Canter and Joe Canter and his wife, Sabrina; and one sister, Gretchen Ann Hurley Newcomer.
