John Hearn

Passed peacefully away in St. John’s on July 25, 2025, John Hearn, aged 92.

Formerly of Harbour Breton, he is predeceased by his beloved wife, Elizabeth Hearn (née Perry), as well as his brother Andrew and sister Genevieve Hearn.

John leaves to mourn with loving memories his three daughters: Patricia (David King), Catherine (David Royle), and Elizabeth (Campbell Churchill). He was a proud grandfather to Melissa Royle (Mark Critch), Michael Royle (Jessica Cowan), and Jonathan King (Carly Keeping). He also leaves behind two cherished great-grandsons, Oliver and Theodore Royle.

John will also be fondly remembered by extended family, including Stephen and Merissa King, and Andrea and Hugh Wilkinson, along with their precious daughters Vivienne and Rose Wilkinson.

He also leaves with fond memories his brother Richard of Montreal, as well as special cousins, nieces, and nephews of the Hearn and Collins families.

Visitation will take place at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, on Wednesday, July 30, from 2–5 p.m. and 7–9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Barrett’s Chapel on Thursday, July 31, at 11:00 a.m. Following the service, a reception will be held at Barrett’s Reception Centre.
