Reverend Joe Anderson Rogers

Death: October 1, 2025
Reverend Joe Anderson Rogers, age 89, fell asleep on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, and woke in the arms of Jesus.
There to welcome him home were his son, John A. Rogers; his parents, Judson Rogers Sr. and Viola Rogers; his brother and sister, Bill Rogers and Jean Williamson; and his mother- and father-in-law, Ruth and George Lafollette.
Joe is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 70 years, Linda K. Rogers; daughters Linda J. Rogers and Sandra K. Clark; son Mark Rogers and wife Debbie; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Joe faithfully served as a bi-vocational minister, preaching the gospel throughout Sevier and Knox counties. He also retired from Mayfield Dairy, where he delivered milk across East Tennessee. A devoted member of Southside Baptist Church in South Knoxville, Joe lived his life in service to Christ and others. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Pastor Luke Wilkerson for his many calls and visits during this time.
Family and friends will leave in procession from Atchley Funeral Home in Seymour at 1:30 PM Sunday, October 5, 2025 for a graveside service in Atchley’s Seymour Memory Gardens. Joe requested that his grandsons Evan Rogers, Mike Rogers, and Jimi Rowland speak at his service.
Pallbearers will be Jimi Rowland, Bo Rowland, Evan Rogers, Mike Rogers, Charles Goodin, and Jeff Love.
