Joe Lunsford
Joe Wayne Lunsford, 75 of McGehee, formerly of Star City passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. He was born July 23, 1950 in Rison to the late, Delton (Ted) and Mildred (Bug) Hutcheson Lunsford.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church at McArthur (Desha County). Joe loved to fish, going to watch his nieces and nephews play ball, and loved going to cook outs.
Also preceding Joe in death was his loving wife Kathy Lunsford, two brothers, Jackie Leon Lunsford and John Paul Lunsford.
Survivors include two sisters, Jessie Jewell Carter (Johnie) and Rita Fay Kiefhaber, all of McGehee. Also surviving are lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. He had more friends than you could count, because Joe NEVER met a stranger. If you were a stranger, you weren’t when you got through talking to Joe. He loved everyone and everyone loved him.
Visitation will be Friday, August 15, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Griffin Funeral Service in Star City. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Griffin Funeral Service Chapel in Star City with Bro. Johnie Carter officiating. Burial will be in Drake Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jason Kiefhaber, Jacob Hays, Jacob Deaton, Christopher Morgan, Christopher Morgan Jr., and Bo Benton.
