Joan Polaro
Joan M. Polaro passed away peacefully on Sunday February 23, 2025 she was 93 years old. Born on February 4, 1932 in Mechanicville, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Hutton) Camerota. Joan is the wife of Anthony “Tony” Polaro with whom they celebrated 59 years of Marriage. They were married on October 9, 1965
Joan was an avid NY Yankee fan and enjoyed going out for coffee everyday to see her friends. The thing that gave her the most joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and family.
In addition to her husband Anthony “Tony” Polaro of Green Island, Joan is survived by her two sons; Anthony Polaro of Melbourne, Fl and Scott (Jennifer) Polaro of Poestenkill and her cherished grandchildren; Gianna (Jerry), Bellazara, Angelina & Anthony Polaro of Poestenkill & Mackenzie Polaro of Troy.
Joan is survived by a nephew John M. Camerota of Stillwater, NY and a niece Christine Camerota Chapman of Moraga, CA
In addition to her parents Joan is predeceased by her siblings Dorine “Babe” Dyer, Sarah “Susie” Dunn, John Henry and Michael Camerota
The family would like to thank Dr. Caulfield and the staff at Shaker Place nursing home for the exceptional care and compassion given to Joan during her time there.
Visiting will be on Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 11am-12:00 noon at All Saints on the Hudson Church, 895 Hudson Avenue, Stillwater. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 noon in the church with burial in the spring at Hudson View Cemetery, Mechanicville.
