Joan Lapetina

Joan R. Lapetina of Rye, NY, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on July 15, 2025. She was 93. Born in Port Chester, NY on May 20, 1932, to Gus Cipolla and Mary Ciccarelli (nee Nask), Joan grew up in Mamaroneck. She was the beloved wife of Frank Lapetina for over 70 years until he passed away merely three months ago.

She worked as a crossing guard for the Village of Mamaroneck for many years. Joan enjoyed crafting and had a knack for crocheting and quilting. Joan and Frank loved traveling in their motorhome, spending time at their homes in The Poconos and in Florida, and spending quality time with their grandchildren.

Joan is survived by her cherished children, Frank Lapetina, David Lapetina (Jackie), Nancy Lapetina and Karen LaMagna (Richard), loving grandchildren, Christopher LaMagna (Darianne), James LaMagna, Gregory Lapetina, Brian Lapetina, and Elyh Lapetina along with dear sister, Carol Hanna (Peter) and many nieces and nephews.

To honor Joan’s life, family and friends will gather on Sunday, July 20, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, 767 E. Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 21, 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Resurrection, Rye, NY, followed by inurnment at Greenwood Union Cemetery.
