It is with great sorrow that I have to announce the passing of Joan Bloodworth. She died May 31st and was 86 years old. She was born to Ulesene Gunn and Charles Marsh on August 15, 1938, as an identical twin, in Apalachicola at the Gunn House. She was married to Richard Bloodworth for 67 years. She was an incredible wife, mother, sister and friend. Being that she was a military wife, she had to embark on many a journey that she did like no other could have. She was a makeup artist in all the bases throughout Italy and after getting stationed in Texas. When my father retired from the military and moved to Saudi Arabia, she followed suit and flew to different bases over there to continue her makeup carrier. She never tired from doing her duty with Richard. When they retired, they built their house on north bay shore drive, Eastpoint and were members of St. George Island Baptist Church, where Joan would do the children’s program every Sunday in Church. To be honest with you , the adults liked the story’s more than the children. Joan is preceded in death by “the love of her life” husband Richard Bloodworth of 67 years, son Ricky Bloodworth and her parents. She leaves behind , daughter Christine Smith(Tommy) and son Randy Bloodworth, her twin sister, Juliette Scott and brother Bobby Marsh, as well as numerous relatives.
