Jewell Henderson, age 82, of Bedford, Kentucky, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at Bedford Springs Health and Rehab Center. Born February 8, 1943 in Bedford, she was the daughter of Elrene and Alma Ruth (Rowlett) Scott.
Mrs. Henderson was a 1961 graduate of Trimble County High School and a longtime member of Bedford Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir. She worked as a bank teller for forty-two years for the Bedford Loan and Deposit Bank before her retirement.
She enjoyed cooking, helping her husband with the Trimble County Apple Festival each year, sewing and making dresses for her granddaughters, gardening, and canning and freezing homegrown vegetables.
Her surviving family includes one son and daughter-in-law, Trent and Amanda Henderson of Milton, Kentucky; one daughter, Haley Turner of Lagrange, Kentucky; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Darrell and Doris Henderson of Madison, Indiana; two sisters-in-law, Arlene Henderson of Madison, and Dorothy Scott of Bedford; nine grandchildren: Collan Henderson, Hunter Henderson, Wesley Henderson, Beau Turner, Bailey Turner, Bree Turner, Andrew Edmondson, Addison Edmondson, and Aiden Edmondson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Henderson, to whom she was married on June 19, 1965, and who passed away June 1, 2025; one sister, Joyce Scott; two brothers, Maynard Scott and Leon Scott; and one brother-in-law, Danny Henderson.
The Reverend Mark Payton will officiate joint funeral services for Bill and Jewell Henderson.
