Jeanine Korer nee: Kravitz, 93, of Scottsdale, Arizona passed away on June 2, 2025. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 6, 1932 to Morris and Fannie Kravitz. She went to Von Steuben High School and graduated in 1949. In the fall of 1950, she went to a singles Yom Kippur dance where she met the love of her life, Gilbert Korer. They raised their four children, Sanford, Arlen, Melinda and Burton in Chicago.
Jeanine was an artist, member of Temple Solel choir, mahjong player, knitter, HOA board member, preschool teacher, x-ray tech, religious school teacher and a master hostess. Jeanine was well connected, making friends everywhere she went.
Jeanine is preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Korer, parents Morris and Fannie Kravitz and brother Seymour and sister in law Jessie. Jeanine was a mother to Sanford and Carmen (Alicea), Arlen and Sher (Walters), Melinda and John Studnicka, Burton and Michal (Aboody). A grandmother , “Bubbie/Ninnie” to Anissa, Guy and Patty, Jeremy, Angel, Gabriel, Brett and Tiffany, Whitney and Nick, Melanie and Adam, Anthony and Abby, Ethan, and Jordan. A great-grandmother “Bubbie-Ninnie” to Opal and Graham.
Services will be held at Sinai Mortuary 4538 North 16th Street Phoenix Arizona on Wednesday June 4, 2025 at 1:30pm Arizona time (3:30pm CST). Interment to follow at Green Acres Cemetery. Shiva will be held at a private residence immediately following the service.
Shiva will also be held Thursday June 5th 6:30pm-8:30pm, Saturday June 7th 6:30-8:30pm, Sunday June 8th 4:00-8:00pm, and Monday June 9th 6:30-8:30pm.
