Jeanette Suzanne Braun of Hartford, WI., passed away on Monday September 8, at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital in Brookfield, Wisconsin. She was 86 years old.

Jeanette was born August 14,1939 in Milwaukee to John and Celia (née Schroeder) Ebner. Wife of 49 years to the late Gerald Braun and wife of 17 years to the late Gerald Schmitz.

Jeanette was a hospital volunteer candy striper as a teenager. She went on to work at the telephone company as a young adult, and then part time as a secretary for the Milwaukee Public School system.
She was a member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church.

Jeanette enjoyed many social activities with her community at Hartford Square, including senior luncheons and playing cards. She had a profound love of animals, especially dogs and cats.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter Donna (Nigel) Roozen-Robjohns, step children Gerald Jr. (Cathrine) Braun, William (Marcy) Braun, Kathryn (David) Smith, Daniel (Audrey) Schmitz, and William (Mary) Schmitz; 11 grandchildren, Nicholas (Jaci), Timothy (Connie), Andrew (Jesse), Jessica, Alexander, Maxwell (Samantha), Conner, Otto (Bitsy), Grace (Henry), Gretchen, and Hannah; 6 great grandchildren and 5 great grand dogs and cats. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother John Jr., her daughter Cynthia (Dave) Brown and step children Thomas (Kim) Schmitz and Mary (Angel) Masada.

Funeral services for Jeanette will be held Friday September 19, 2025 at 11:00am at Divine Savior Lutheran Church, 3200 County K South, Hartford with Rev. Dr. Douglas J. Stowe officiating.

Visitation is from 9am to 10:45am. Interment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
