Jean Reeder

Ella Jean Reeder ( Born June 14, 1951 ) beloved wife, mother, granny, sister, aunt and friend, passed away at her home on Tuesday evening, August 12th at the age of 74.

Jean was a special lady and loved her family so fiercely. They loved her more than she could ever imagine. She was always staying busy with something from the days she owned her flower shop, working in her yard, junkin and antiquing or spending time with her family. She always loved to have a Sunday dinner with one of her southern cooked meals. She always had such a good sense of humor and always so fun to be around.

She was born June 14, 1951 in Athens, Alabama to Eugene Holt and Era Mae (Wray) Holt.

She was married to Jim Reeder and he survives.

Besides her husband Jim, she is also survived by 2 sons, Paul (Robin ) Robinson, Shane (Sharon ) Kendall and by a step son, Ashley ( Kim) Reeder and a step daughter, Meesha ( Tim ) Null. Also surviving are grandchildren, Brooklin (Brandon) Belt, Chase Kendall, Makenzie Luna, Ashlyn Cole, Sawyere Dallas and Colby Reeder as well as several brothers and sisters

She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Union Freewill Baptist Church East of West Frankfort.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 3:30 P.M. at the Union Freewill Baptist Church East of West Frankfort with Rev. Danny Dennis officiating. Visitation will be after 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery south of Thompsonville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the church or Parker-Reedy Funeral Home.

Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort is in charge of arrangements.
