Jean Louis

Jean Rosemond Louis, 78, of Spring Valley, NY, was called home on August 5, 2025. Jean was born on September 26, 1946, in Mirebalais, Haiti to Philidor Louis and Anaira Charles. He was one of six children. Later in life he came to the United States and moved to Rockland County, NY. Jean dedicated many years to servicing the Spring Valley area by owning his own taxi company called “Roro Taxi”. He was a pillar in the community and provided great service to many. He sold the business in 2014 and retired. Jean Rosemond Louis married his beloved wife, Litane Louis in March of 1978. He has 4 children, Elizabeth, Davidson, Joanne, and Ronald. He spent his days caring for his grandchildren, going to the gym, and was a dedicated choir member of St. Joseph Parrish. Jean was predeceased by his wife, Litane Louis. He is survived by his children, Elizabeth, Davidson, Joanne, and Ronald; his daughter in law, Katucha; his grandchildren, Jaydin, Janiya, David, and Nathan; and his siblings Lisbon Louis, Julienne Lartigue Charles, and Anna Louis. He was preceded in death by his parents, Philidor Louis and Anaira Charles.

Jean Rosemond’s laugh, dedication, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed. He was a pioneer in the community and leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love for all.

A memorial service will be held on August 23, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church. His final resting place will be at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, 36 West Nyack Road, Nanuet, NY 10954.
